Try this honey mustard chicken wrap for a delicious 30 minute lunch, completely from scratch. With air fryer chicken tenders and a homemade sauce, it's healthy too!

Cross section of honey mustard chicken wrap.

Think crispy chicken tenders and the iconic honey mustard dip from McDonalds. This honey mustard chicken wrap checks all the boxes, and more! If you liked my honey mustard sheet pan meal, this one's for you.

Wraps are the easiest go-to lunch and they are seriously so good. I love them because they keep well and can be meal prepped, making them a good work lunch like I described here. This honey mustard wrap is a delicious balanced option, with tons of protein, fibre and fresh veggies. The honey mustard sauce is so simple, you'll want to drizzle it on everything!

    Ingredients

Ingredients for honey mustard chicken wraps in bowls.

    Wraps:

    • Air fryer chicken tenders
    • Coleslaw
    • Lettuce
    • Pickles
    • Radishes
    • Cherry tomatoes
    • Whole wheat tortillas
    • Cheddar cheese

    Honey mustard sauce:

    • Greek yogurt
    • Mayonnaise
    • Dijon mustard
    • Honey
    • White vinegar

    Instructions

Air fryer chicken tenders on a tray.

Make your air fryer chicken tenders following this recipe. Do not add the buffalo hot sauce after cooking, simply follow the recipe up until you remove the chicken tenders from the air fryer.

Mixing together honey mustard sauce in a bowl.

Make your honey mustard sauce by whisking together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

    Mixing veggies for wrap filling.

In a large bowl, combine coleslaw mix, shredded lettuce, pickles, radishes and cherry tomatoes.

Adding honey mustard sauce to wrap filling.

Drizzle with about ¾ of the honey mustard sauce. Save some for drizzling at the end of making your wrap.

    Adding shredded cheese to wraps.

To the center of each tortilla, add ½ of the coleslaw mixture, top with 2 chicken strips, sprinkle with ¼ cup of cheese and finish with a drizzle of the honey mustard sauce.

Wrap up your tortillas by folding in the sides, bringing the bottom flap up and continuing to roll gently pressing down to ensure the wrap is tight!

    Substitutions and Variations

To make gluten-free: Use a gluten-free tortilla and gluten-free chicken tenders.

To make dairy-free: Skip the Greek yogurt and just use mayo. Omit the cheese or use your favourite dairy-free cheese.

    Missing an ingredient? Try these:

    • Greek yogurt/Mayonnaise: I always like using both Greek yogurt and mayonnaise to create a creamy consistency that has both protein and fats. However, feel free to use just mayonnaise or just yogurt depending on your preference.
    • Veggies: If you don't like cherry tomatoes or radishes, leave them out! Use whatever mix-ins you like with the coleslaw mix.

    Equipment

    • Whisk
    • Mixing bowl
    • Air fryer

    Storage

These honey mustard chicken wraps are best eaten right after making them, or within a few hours if you want to bring them for lunch. Otherwise, the tortilla will start to get soggy if left for too long. If you are looking for a way to make them ahead of time, I recommend making the filling ahead of time (can keep in the fridge for up to 4 days) and then adding it to a tortilla with any other add-ins.

    Top Tip

Save some honey mustard dressing for drizzling on your wrap after adding the fillings, for an extra level of flavour! It's also great for dipping your veggies in.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to use air fryer chicken tenders?

No, you can use any chicken you want! Any precooked chicken strips (breaded or grilled) work great! You could even use shredded chicken.

I only need one wrap, can I halve the recipe?

Yes, of course! I personally just find making two helpful because I can make two lunches at once, or I can share with someone if I’m feeling nice). Scale the recipe depending on the amount of servings you need.

What can I serve with these wraps?

I like serving these honey mustard chicken wraps with some fruit, or veggies with hummus on the side. It's also a great addition to an adult lunchable.

Is there a specific type of coleslaw mix you recommend?

Any coleslaw mix will work great (I usually look for what's on sale)! Kale slaw, broccoli slaw, or regular cabbage coleslaw have all been tested and will work.
