A glimpse into how I incorporate healthy eating into my daily life (without spending 8 hours in the kitchen)!
My Stance on What I Eat in a Day Videos
As a registered dietitian, I have always been pretty opinionated on what I eat in a day or "WIEAD" videos. I have always felt that for certain individuals who may be struggling with their relationship with food, videos showcasing certain individuals diets can spark comparison which can can be tricky to navigate. However, after years of sharing healthy recipes I constantly get asked to show how I incorporate these recipes into my daily life.
So, I know use these types of videos to show glimpses into my daily life to provide inspiration for just how easy it can be to eat a nutritious diet (without spending 8 hours in the kitchen!
My philosophy
When it comes to food and nutrition my philosophy has always been simple. I truly believe nutrition doesn't need to be overly complicated so I focus on creating a balanced and satisfying plate- without restriction!
My goal is to make share recipes that help individuals nourish a healthier relationship with food in a way that fits into their lives. So this is just ONE day of my life to hopefully inspire you!
Below you can find all the recipes (where possible) and details about how and why I created the meals I ate today!
Breakfast
Egg White, Spinach & Feta Wrap
This is a BRAND NEW recipe that has quickly become my very favourite meal prep breakfast! They are a spin on the popular Starbucks breakfast wraps however they are freezer-friendly and contain 33g of protein PER wrap!
Snack
This is always my go-to snack when I need to get some additional protein in but am craving something sweet! It's reayd in just 5 minutes and pairs perfectly with an apple for a balanced snack.
Lunch
We kept it SIMPLE today. I wasn't in the mood for anything specific but I knew I wanted an easy and quick meal that hit all the nutrients- which is the perfect time for a "girl dinner" or snack plate style lunch! I just used a can of tuna to make my easy tuna dip for protein and paired it with some veggies, guacamole and crackers.
Snack
For a little afternoon pick-me-up before I went out I grabbed a few of these energy balls to power me through until dinner! These are perfect to meal prep and have on hand for when life gets busy.
Dinner
My all-time favourite dinner that has been on repeat the past 3 years! It's SO easy to make and customize with whatever you have available in the fridge and it's a great way to get in protein, veggies and carbohydrates!
Dessert
My recent favourite snack post-dinner. I make a little popcorn trailmix bowl using popcorn for fiber and any sweet treats or crunchy snacks we have available!
That's a wrap!
