This 10 minute air fryer omelette is my #1 secret to a quick, high protein breakfast with minimal mess. Once you try it, you'll never go back!

Air fryer omelette served with orange slices and avocado toast.

I feel like we as a society just collectively decided that omelettes are only for special occasions. It's what you order at a fancy breakfast restaurant, or what your mom would make you on the weekends when mornings were slower. And it kind of makes sense!

Omelettes can be a bit tricky- I know I'm not the only one whose omelettes somehow become scrambles 75% of the time...

So I've decided to make your lives easier and your mornings a bit more special with my air fryer omelette. You heard me right, no flipping required!

Made in one bowl with all your favourite mix-ins and poured straight into the liner- it's the same delicious omelette but without the mess or stress. Bonus: you can even get ready while it's cooking in the air fryer.

Seriously a gamechanger recipe! Once you try it, there's no going back.

    Ingredients

Birds eye view of ingredients for air fryer omelette including eggs, veggies, and cheese.
    • Eggs
    • Spinach
    • Bell pepper
    • Feta cheese
    • Salt and black pepper to taste

    Instructions

Eggs and mix-ins in air fryer liner.

Preheat your air fryer to 350F and grab your air fryer liner or dish. In a small bowl (or directly in the liner) whisk together eggs, and add mix-ins. Pour the mixture in a single layer in your air fryer liner.

    Omelette cooked in air fryer.

Bake for about 8-10 minutes, until fully cooked. Remove from the liner, slice into pieces if desired and enjoy!

    Substitutions and Variations

To make dairy-free: Omit the cheese or use dairy-free cheese of choice.

Everyone has their favourite omelette mix-ins, and these are mine. Feel free to customize based on what you've got on hand! Here are some quick suggestions:

    • Mushrooms
    • Caramelized onions
    • Goat cheese
    • Leftover roasted veggies from dinner
    • Chopped kale
    • Fresh herbs
    • Hot sauce
    • Bacon or ham

I also know that not everyone has air fryer liners, so I have some alternates. First, you could use a shallow, oven-safe baking dish that fits in your air fryer. The other option, my personal favourite, is pressing a tortilla into the basket! This way, your air fryer omelette cooks in its own edible "bowl".

    Storage

Since this recipe only takes 10 minutes to make, I make it morning-of for best results. If you're looking for a great meal prep egg recipe, give these quinoa egg muffins or these mason jar omelettes a try!

    Top Tip

To make this recipe even easier, you can prep your ingredients the night before. Then when you wake up, all you have to do is pour everything into the liner and pop it into the air fryer.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Can I use egg whites?

Yes, you can swap around ¼ cup of egg whites for 2 eggs. However, I always go for the whole egg because it contains most of the micronutrients and almost half the protein!

What can I serve this air fryer omelette with?

This omelette already has protein, healthy fats, and some veggies. To make it a balanced meal, I would suggest pairing it with fibre-rich carbohydrates like berries, avocado toast, or a whole grain tortilla.

Do I need to grease the air fryer liner?

If you're using a silicone liner, you don't need to. A quick grease never hurts though if you've had issues in the past with sticking.

Just made the omelet in my fairly new Airfryer oven, which is a bit different than the"drawer" type. It is still a learning process, but the end result was great, though I had to make a few ingredient changes, due to what I had on hand...I added some thin sliced mushrooms, chili pepper, fresh cilantro. Meant to add tomatoes, but forgot. Had no feta, but a Mexican 4-cheese mixture on hand. It was quite delicious and filling! I did use a pyrex glass dish with a liner...easy clean-up!....Thank you!

Awesome. Plus thanks for not having a page full of adverts. I chucked a chili in with this and the little kick was great.
