Ingredients
310" whole wheat pitas*
3tablespoonolive oil
½teaspoonsalt
¼tsp black pepper
½teaspoongarlic powder
1teaspoondried parsley
¼tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 325℉.
In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley and red pepper flakes. Brush each side of the pita in a thin layer of the oil mixture.
Slice each pita into about 8 triangles using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter. I like to start by slicing the pita in quarters, and then slicing each quarter in half.
Arrange pita triangles in a single layer in the basket of your air fryer (it’s ok if they are overlapping slightly). I recommend doing this in about 2-3 batches depending on your air fryer size. Bake for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown (note they may not be perfectly crispy right away).
Allow to cool. This is when the pita chips crisp to create a traditional chip texture. Once cool pita chips can be stored in an airtight container or bag on the counter or in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Notes
Please note all air fryers are different and the cooking time may vary slightly, I recommend starting at 5 minutes and increasing as needed until the pita chips are crispy.*Look for a double layer Lebanese pita bread if it is available to you. I find it thinner and easier to crisp up! Thicker, Greek pita bread will work it will jsut increase the cook time to about 10 minutes.*I have included an estimation of the nutrition information for this recipe below.
